For The One Who Walks In The Dark

from the dark side he walks
as his sword cuts with light
he stands in front of the council
who were awed by his mere stance

no words spoken, no sounds were heard
but the humming of the light from his sword
council looks into each other's eyes
while silence still lingers amidst

silence he can longer bear
saber light roars as he raised his hand
Yoda rises, motioned him to stop
"in the dark, you no longer are... in the light, you are now with us"

Now, let me tell you: this one's super fantastic. Great work!

Roy said...

glad you like it Luke, it's my welcome poem for you ;)

Jan said...

Oh, Roy, you are sublime. How can the council repay your kindness.

Do you have a sudden hunger to invade another galaxy far, far away. The supreme council can be harnessed to please your every whim!

Lovely, Roy. A poet-Jedi! Not too shabby.

Roy said...

just doing my share to welcome a friend Jan

I'm just glad, it made the grade

thanks!

hmmm... infolinks destroying its presentation.... I think I'll turn it off, just for this one ;)

Jan said...

Roy, I was thinking the same thoughts. But I let it go. I find myself getting obsessed with your infolinks and it's not healthy at all. Dami dami dapat gawin infolinks pa sinisipat-sipat ko.

It's true. Splending poem. Ako siguro - I have to really power down to think up creative thoughts. Really, really locked down in a room. without the internet and twitter, if not, walang mangyayari. Wala poem na masusulat. Ahahaha.

But I'd make paubaya to you and Doc Z. You're doing a magnificent job at it. ",)

Roy said...

hahaha! I know how you've been trying to outsmart infolink by posting in straight Tagalog hehe...

Don't worry, I turned it off, just to make my poem for Luke more presentable

just imagine if you were into poetry... we'll definitely be out of job lol

Jan said...

You can now breathe a sigh of relief, Roy. I'm scared of poetry. To be good at poetry one must confront truths and untruths. One must have the guts to be naked with your truths. Poetry demands it. Can't fake that requirement and still call it poetry.

I'm comfortable with prose wherein there's room for dissimulation. Ahahaha.

And how can I write poetry when even the word splendid I cannot get right! ",)

Maybe, some other time, Roy. When I will have perfected my blogging rhythm.

Cody said...

Bumalik uli ako to read it again. I just can't seem to get enough of it. ;) (Parang kanta ano)

BTW, thanks for the link. I Did not notice it first due to the other underlines. (are those links also? dami ko pang di alam no? :D )

So you're also good in poetry. Pinahanga mo na talaga ako. I guess Jan wasn't bluffing when he said that he does not associate with sucky writers.

Again, Roy, thanks. This is great.

Roy said...

@Jan
aahh.. overcome that fear, you should. look inside, seek the force.

inside you, I know the poet dwells

@Luke
those were infolinks. that's why I turned it off. because it's causing distraction in the poem.

thanks again!

Jan said...

@Luke: Indeed, I meant that. Ayaw ko mahawahan (?) ng suckiness. Ahahaha. If you see me talking with them it's for the social climbing karma. ",) But there are, to my credit, exceptions. If you know what I mean. Ahahaha. I don't mean you. You don't suck at writing at all.

@Roy - I defer to your much vaunted wisdom, Roy. I will not shoot myself down anymore. Promise! ",)

Cody said...

@Jan, Ako din, I will develop my social climbing skills. :(
:)

@Luke: Yes, you gotta do that. And please tell Dee to do the same. I'm nominating her in my Top Ten List of Emerging Influential Blogs. Tip: try looking for a link to exodians blog. His list is not yet complete. He's got only 4 slots filled. Please tell Dee to visit Exodians too. I've wrangled a yes from this New York-based compatriot just by leaving a comment in his wordpress.com blog. Who knows, di ba?

@Roy: Please visit Exodians, too. You can find a link to him in RE's comment section.

Roy said...

yes, I've been to his blog.

kaya lang di ako maka-comment nun pumunta ako, they were speaking in bisaya in the comment thread... can't butt in :(

Cody said...

Yeah, already told her about that rubbing elbows thing. She has even dropped a comment or two already in RE's blog. No wonder she does not like being a lawyer. Well, I guess opposites really attract.

I'll also tell her about exodians link in RE's blog. Thanks, Jan.

Hahaha, even at the start of the poem, I was already conjuring the image of Star Wars in my mind only to realize at the end of the poem that it was indeed a Star Wars poem. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.

Pagbibigay pugay, nagustuhan mo?

Lolo Jan, lolo Jan,

Sabi ko, "Tabi dyan!"
nainggit ako tuloy!

Si Mel at si Fifi pala,
dito dumalaw din ngayon.
Ka-Roy? Ka-Roy halika!

minatamis kong nakatabi, maging sapat kaya?

kaya't kapeng walang gatas, sana nama'y wag maumay

fedhz said...

Aba, aba.. puro makata?
ayan tuloy ako'y nahawa.
teka lang, teka lang
ang "dark chocolate" matabang?

sa aking paglilibot
ako'y napasimangot
napakaraming mababasa
ako'y natataranta.

Please stop! haha! yoko na nga. hehe! Haiku po marunong kayo?

sana ako rin may welcome post hehe.

Roy said...

Haiku ba ika mo?
ang masasabi ko lang, hay, naku!
narinig ko na rin naman yan
pero hindi ko pa nasubukan

dark chocolate ay matabang
ikumpara ito sa karaniwan
pero paborito ito ng karamihan
siyempre, kasama na ako diyan!

pero bago ang lahat,
maliban sa sapatos kong gasgas
salamat sa iyong pagdalaw at pagtula
ang iyong ginawa, tunay kong kinatuwa

salamat fedhz!

Jan said...

Ahahaha.

I'm not surprised at all with Doc Z and Roy.

But Fedhz?!!!

Go girl! Multi-talented ka pala. Labis mo akong pinahanga. Galing ah. Now, I'm very proud of myself that I chose you in my top 10 list.

But don't relax yet. We've got lots of work to do pa. ",)

Jan said...

Sa mga kinauukulan:

Guys, let's visit Fifi.

That's my advice to her. Ahahaha. So blame me pag wala kayo sa top 10 nya.

All is fair in war and love and blogging. Ahahaha. Go, go, go. ",)

Roy said...

hahaha!

pinuri, pero may threat pa rin, hehe

nice Jan :)

keep us on our toes hehe...

Roy said...

no problem Jan

i've been visiting her blog, kaya lang wala siyang update lately e.

thanks for the heads up

Cody said...

Hahaha. Grabe naman kayo. Ang gagaling nyo! I find it hard to make even a single stanza, and you guys are throwing stuff like those around? Y'all rock!

Roy said...

Ito kasing si Doc Z, nakakahawa :)

zorlone said...

LOL

Z

Roy said...

hahaha... malignant

subukan mong tumula Doc Z, malay mo, sumakay din sila, hahaha!

Dragonblogger said...

Really nice poem, any poem about Jedi and Sith in my book is a winner, topped off with a nice quote.

Roy said...

Hello Dragonblogger

thanks!

To be honest, I really don't know a lot of details about Star Wars, just the main characters.

I just want to pay a little tribute to our new blogger friend Luke

Jena Isle said...

Hi Roy,

Kahit one page each. Ako kaya ano kaya ang tula ako.

"Ako ay may aso
ang pangalan ay toto,
magaan siyang tumakbo.
Matulis pa ang nguso..."
Bow.

he he he, pansensiya na po, trying hard. Welcome Master Jedi Luke.

Jena Isle said...

Oh Roy, Star Wars is one of my faves,. I have the whole series, wanna borrow them?

The last three sequels were produced earlier - several years ago- before the first three prequels were done.

You would be amazed at how they entertwined the prequels to the old sequels, because they have to take into consideration the old stories.

Roy said...

Wow! that would make a pre-school treat for my kid Jena!

we'll be doing a movie marathon before classes starts!

so, how can I get them?

the prequels were really a genius! I wondered how they were able to thread them to fit the three orig star wars story.

Roy said...

'nga pala, mayroon din akong Tagalog na tula, papasa ba sa publications yun?

Jena Isle said...

Hi Roy,

Of course, we could publish them, local lang naman ang sa atin, but if the two of you agree, we could display it in our sites for possible international exposure and who knows? baka may bumili? he he he. If we opt for the later, then we have to include a translation for the tagalog poems.

I'll text you about the tapes. OO nga habang vacation. Tamang-tama mag treat ka for your birthday sa nearby Jollibee...he he he..

Jan said...

Treats? The word echoes across the blogosphere and cuts short my long, lazy Sunday sleep. Who's gonna treat us? When? Where? Ahahaha.

About Star Wars and Luke:

I instantly like Luke the minute he said he's from the Dark Force. That this Jedi knight wields a mean light saber is a plus. He dispenses dark chocolates, too!

The reference did the trick. It has sealed my liking for Luke. Whether he likes it or not, I've declared him my friend.

For others who don't know me, but would like to? Here's the deal: The Star Wars trick is already taken. It's been done. Will not work anymore. Blame Luke. Ahahaha

Roy said...

@Jena
so if Tagalog poem would pass, what about Kapampangan?

Yep! I have them too ;)

@Jan
Star Wars trick won't work eh?

I'm glad I made it through the door, hehe...

by the way, I've been hearing about those dark chocolates, where are they?

Jan said...

Doors means nothing to Jedi knights. lol.

Jena left a comment on my second to the last post. She said something about dark chocs as something much talked about but never been actually seen. Dito ba si Luke? Ah ok. Well then, Jena said that these dark chocs are wraiths. Ahahaha. Luke, I'm sorry. I'm just quoting naughty Jena. lols.

Cody said...

I'm back to read this again.

@Dragonblogger,
"any poem about Jedi and Sith in my book is a winner"I like you already! Yeah, Star Wars tells a complex tale of good and evil.

@Jena,
thanks for the welcome, ma'am Jena. :)

@Jan,
:D I'm glad to be officially declared your friend. Regarding Star Wars already taken, my tip to others is to use Star Trek instead. Beam me up, Scottie!

Regarding dark chocs, they're not wraiths. You just have to imagine them first, then let them melt in your mouth. You'll taste the unmistakable flavor of dark chocs.

Jan said...

Ano ba ito. Di tayo makapag kwentuhan without being found out. Ahahaha. I like your retort, Luke. At least, kahit magmelt sa mouth un dark chocs, it's all for the good. Non-fattening siya. ",)

Cody said...

@Jan,
Gotcha! Your phone's been tapped. I'm watching you through the camera of your phone and through your webcam. Big brother is watching....

Ok ba effect? ahehehe
